Gravatar In a sense being the antithesis of the stereotype just for the sake of being the antithesis of the stereotype is similar to being the stereotype for the sake of being the stereotype (setting aside for the moment the political significance of violating the stereotype). It's still letting the stereotype dictate what aspects of your personality you're going to develop. There's a really difficult balancing act (which I don't mean to imply I've come close to mastering) of not letting the stereotype define you and at the same time being able to accept the times when you resemble the stereotype without thinking that the resemblance proves the stereotype.
