I can't speak for Marty and Dave, but I know when they told me about that interview it seemed very strange. Maybe we're all just so used to having to work to make people care about things, to pay attention to what we're doing (to fund our research, to buy our new flavor of chips...). So we don't understand it, and we don't know how to respond, when someone cares of their own accord, because the connection just clicks.
