Wow, greenfield filters has it's own website? that's impressive. For awhile, our IR (intervential radiology) guys were getting the ICU interns (primarly medicine, not surgery) to get patient consent for greenfield placement. Of course, the interns were not adequately prepared to obtain informed consent, most of us never having met any of the IR attendings. I obtained consent for one and felt like a fraud. This stopped in July when the trauma service refused to obtain consent for procedure done in another department for physicians we had never worked with. Fortunately, no bad outcomes, but perhaps in the future, I can direct patients to this site!
