lying, no

Nothing wrong with his heart.....he doesn't have one.

Probably just another diversionary tactic.

But maybe they'll discover that people DO care about Rove's insulting trash-talk but DO NOT care about Cheney's health.

die nazi die

How can you kill the undead?

It was nothing, just the monthly necromancy ritual... nothing to see, move along...

don't wish ill of him, he has many stock option to cash out yet.

Maybe he'll be airbrushed out of all the balcony photos.

Could we be so fortunate for it to be something serious so as to force him to at least step down? Mr. Bill does have a point.

The white house MAY be lying? John, you are being coy. Give me an example of when this group has NOT lied.

Mr. Bill-- right on. But what happens if he slips into a vegetative state? Will rethugs tell us that he is alert, responsive and fully capable of fulfilling his v-p duties a la the Terri Schiavo fiasco? Pull the plug and save the planet.

Big leap there, but a girl can dream, can't she?

While it seems that the white house is lying as usual, the comments on huffington's blog about the secretiveness of the Cheney's Secret Service detail aren't really valid.

Anyone who has ever dealt with the secret service knows that they are (for good reason) extremely secretive about anything relating to their protection of an individual. Also, if the vice president were in a hospital and in an already vulnerable state, would you really want people who walked in off the street being able to know that.

Just my $.02

Die you evil bastard, die yesterday, die die die and enjoy hell with all the other twisted mass murdering fucks of this world. And fuck your evil gay-criminalizing gay daughter too.

Read R. Silverberg's Lord Valentine's Castle, where one of the rulers is kept alive in vitro, with his clique of aides 'interpreting' his gurgles and twitches....
As long as he's on message....

Die, you pig.

"Soviet Politburo"? Geez, John, you're really reaching with this one. Cheney probably just has a cold!
:)

Fuck all this secrecy, I'm sick of it, it's the way of nazis and stalinists, somebody say some actual goddamn thing that's true and real. FUCK ALL THIS SECRECY.

I've read that doctors can look at Cheney's face and see that he has serious cardiac issues, but I find this puzzling: how can you tell anything about a corpse?

"We now no longer have the right to know about the serious health problems of our leaders."

Did we ever? What about FDR?

Who cares? Fuck'em!

Saw her post last night too, Googled news: cheney--nothing related
Just Yahooed news before coming here...

Cheney Visits Orthopedist in Colorado
AP via Yahoo! News - Jun 24 6:21 PM
Vice President Dick Cheney visited a renowned orthopedist Friday while in town for a forum held by a conservative think tank, his spokeswoman said.

Very old news now--

Where is the media?
Where is Dick Cheney?

Seems like they are hiding something here.

Guys, be careful about expressing desires for death related to a federal official. We don't want John getting subpoenas now do we?

Quick, get Bill Frist on the videophone.

Is the veep in the "last throes" of life as he knows it?

hawkseye beat me to it!

That mountain air can be very thin...

Why not be more public about him "ever" going to a doctor for anything?

In a Gulfstream? Oops, I forgot there is a high terror alert and they have to keep moving him around.

The White House LYING???? Who would have thought...

/sarcasm

Okay, here I am in full James Bond mode, if James Bond wore a tin-foil hat under his toupee...though I guess if it were under a toupee it would look more like a yarmulke or a beenie.

anyway, as it has now been fairly clearly demonstrated that the Iraq war was a set up for consolidation of power, not the WOT, and as Halliburton loots (and who knows who else) while troops have to pay for their own armor...

Cheney, in this scenario, will suffer a debilitating heart attack and someone will have to be appointed as v.p...or his war profiteering via Halliburton will become so apparent, compared to ill-equipped, buy-your-own for the troops that Americans turn on (and media) turn on him. (cough-Agnew-cough)

Because the poll numbers are so bad, Bush, etc. will be talked into (or will make a deal...no criminal prosecution if non-pnac, non-neocon Senator X is appointed vp...)

In the mid-terms, voter fraud will finally be outed and republicans will lose the majority in the house (the economy and Iraq may cause that anyway, but who knows, with voting machines.) So, someone who has knowledge of these frauds will either be turned or planted to reveal them.

Impeachment proceedings will begin against Bush soon after the midterms by the Democratically controlled house and the new vp will take over and appoint another reality-based conservative as his (or her?--are there any reality-based conservative females?) vp.

The neo-cons will go away as the new pres and vp appoint non-theo-or neocrats to positions currently controlled by theocrats.

The reality-based prez will harken back to TR as the example of conservatism in this country and do some trust-busting, which will draw independents to offset the tali-born-agains forming a third party once they are ignored by the revamped republican party.

Libertarians will also come on board as the new prez and vp work with the leg. to pass laws to make hemp legal again as biomass/oil, as the oil crisis gets worse and we HAVE TO implement an energy strategy that is based upon alternatives, conservation (TR again), and the patriotic idea of switching to hybrids, using solar panels, etc. etc. etc. spurring a real growth in productivity as these items are smaller scale community-based industries, and as venture capitalists see, more and more, which way the wind is blowing.

Entrenched industries will be told they had their time at the trough, and the world their grandchildren inherit is more important than their third quarter profits or their off-shore account...which is pretty fat anyway.

Okay, well, I can imagine...

Actually, imo, if the Republicans want to survive the Bush years, they'll have to do something like this imo because Bush is so polarizing that, honestly, he has failed and is a total lame duck whose unethical and shoddy dealings will bring down the whole party...which, frankly, would suit me just fine, but which would also probably be pretty hard on America because they would obviously have no problem with bringing the rest of us down with them.

hawkseye and Mr. Bill,

LOL!!

Does anybody besides me think that he got bumped (unfairly, illegally?) to the top of the heart transplant queue during those mystery bunker days following 9.11.01 -- I mean, he was near death's door every other minute during and after the "election" of 2000 and then, since 9.11.01, we have heard nada about his health problems. But even those transplanted hearts don't last forever...

Well, the first part of my pray has come true -- I'm gonna hurry back to church now. . .

I do not wish the man ill health; however, I do wish he would leave office before he can do any more damage.

Whats Cheney worrying about...he has the best health care then many if not MOST Americans...you know the 40 million without health Insurance.

Whoever replaces Cheney as VP is Rove's candidate for 2008.

fauxreal,
Whew!

I just made a prediction to my friend the in 2008 the war will still be raging with over 4000 dead American troops.

Sad as that may be, it could easily be a reality.

Some of you scare me.

I'm wondering if things would be worse if Big Dick did check out and Chimpy was left to make his own decisions.

Shocked I am Shocked.

Come on people, the administration has been doing this EVERY time Cheney's been taken to the hospital ever since the mild attack he had back in the 2000 the wonderfully inaccurate explanations Fleischer was giving at the time was entertainment unto itself, so try not to act too surprised. Though personally I was finding myself more likely to compare the cover up regarding his health with the Vatican during Pope John Paul's last few years rather than the Politoburo.

I think we should send in one of the Gitmo doctors to attend him, supervised, of course by Dr. Fristquack.

1) Indeed a replacement VP pick likely is the choice for heir - although someone pointed out that the lack of a VP as candidate removes one internal barrier to sanity and political reality in the decision making process

2) Wild card choice - Joe Lieberman

Whats Cheney worrying about...he has the best health care then many if not MOST Americans...you know the 40 million without health Insurance.

Quite true, John.

He won't die until he finds a way to take his Haliburton stock with him.

Where is Dr. Kervorkian when you need him?

Re new Veep: I don't know if Chimpy possibly could find as big a cement head as Herr Cheney. Maybe dog-sex Santorum. Herr Rove? Who does Chimpy love the most?

"We now no longer have the right to know about the serious health problems of our leaders."

Did we ever??

...all I can say is, die muthafukkah die and take your demon spawn with you, too.

Let Hell Central open up where they're operating on his heart and suck everybody with sin into the maelstrom.

You know, like the thing that was under the Charmed Ones' basement. The Shadow from the Nexus. Yeeepppp! The heart of darkness oughta meet the heart of darkness.

My tendency is to be disgusted by the outrageous comments on this thread wishing ill to a federal official and refusing to hope for a recovery for our cardiac-challenged V-P, HOWEVER, when I remember what the other side has said about Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Dean, Hillary, Durbin, Michael Moore, and even our friend, John A; I will not subscribe to these comments but I will not condemn them either.

Are you as tired as I am of the other side dishing it out but refusing to take it? Fuck em'.

Paris- yeah, that could be true, but I hope it's not.

Am I the only one here who thinks that there are lots of Republicans who despise the Bush-Rove-Cheney axis?

...I'm talking about East Coast Republicans, the deficit-hating republicans, the real politik negotiating Republicans, not the bastard children of American politics (southern fundamentalists, for lack of a better term...since they got the dems in power during FDRs time and then went over to the Republicans after the civil rights act. )

I could easily envision a "civil war" in the Republican Party because Bush has empowered the most embarrassing group that has brought our educational standards down, hurt us around the world vis-a-vis diplomacy, and made us look like the worst stereotype of the ugly American.

Of course, in today's world, those Republicans would be considered neo-liberals, I suppose, which is why I hope I can find a job north of the border in a couple of years.

If we get Bush III, Jebdi meets Palpatine, do YOU want to live here? I surely don't.

This moment in time (DSM, etc) is the last gasp, for me, to see if this country can come back from the edge of the John Birch, Fred Phelps, Karl Rove abyss.

I think about my future plans in those terms. The next two years will be decisive for me.

In some ways I think this country is too conservative for me no matter what, but it is my country too, so until I think it's hopeless (and I already do on some days...)

I don't want Cheney to die. I want him to get caught up in the Anti-Rapture and get sucked bodily into the ninth level of Hell.

Cheney's heart problem is that he has not heart. That Saudi oil courses through his veins, hyrdraullicly pulsed by an oil pump from a Cadillac Escalade. That is why he is so concerned about oil. Oil literally is life to Dick Cheney.

Cheney resigns due to health reasons. Bush announces Karl Rove as new VP.

Or it could be a case of gas!

Oh please! Me thinks wolf has been cried enough.

Cheney had made it clear he's not interested in running for president. Bush(read: Rove) needs an heir apparent to maintain any sort of hold on power.

Now think back to when Agnew resigned and how we got our first non-elected President, Gerald Ford.

If Cheney were to step down because of health, Bush would name his choice for an heir apparent. Congress would have to approve the choice-and *this* battle could make the Bolton nomination seem like a party at Chuck E. Cheese's.

The question is timing, as in would they make the move before or after the elections next year?

Of course, I'm speculating and nothing may happen.

I might be forgetting my proper government history here. . .but. . .if anything happened to Cheney...and Bush...wouldn't this mean that Tom DeLay would become President?

Suddenly I'm feeling very ill. . .

Not Tom Delay---Dennis Hastert, the Speaker of the House.
After Hastert, the next two are the Treas. Sec. and President Pro Tem of the Senate. I'm not sure on the order. I think the treasury Sec. is next

If it comes to pass that Cheney steps down in the next year or two, and Rove picks his 2008 candidate to replace him, I would say we can take great delight in seeing just how predictable Rove has become. I think I've seen this scenario predicted about a dozen times.

Yeah, real delight.

This is all wishful thinking. He's not going to step down, he's not going to die, he's going to live until he's 90 -- on the American working poor's dole.

I don't think Rove would replace Cheney; Bush would probably nominate Condisleazy.

Sleazy-condiments. . .

Yeah, Cheney will step down. Since he's already said he won't run for Prez in 2008, they MUST get someone electable in there to be Bush's heir apparent.

Calling Jeb Bush! Yo, bro, whatcha doin' in 2008?

Perhaps the CIA guys now charged in Italy retaliated against Cheney by arranging for him a special little "rendition" to Gitmo, perpetually hooding Mr. Fuck You, and just letting everyone else at Gitmo go on doing to him just whatever it is that they do . . . . in the tropics . . . in the moonlight . . . wah di doo dah . . .

I HOPE HE FUCKING CROAKS FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE KILLED IN HIS LITTLE OIL ADVENTURE IN IRAQ!!

Karma's a bitch, ain't it, Cheney? How do you kill the undead? Put a stake where the heart would be.

On the one hand, as stated earlier, the gub'mint has had a long history of not informing the public about the health concerns of sitting Presidents and VPs. FDR was already stated, and I believe Grover Cleveland had mouth cancer.

I can't say I feel any remorse Cheney if there is something serious, although I feel for the suffering his family would have to go through. But I don't wish him ill. And I gotta say all the pre-emptive grave dancing I'm seeing bothers me, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, that's something we revile the other side for doing. Next, and perhaps more cynically, but equally important, Cheney's death would probably give Bush a sympathy boost in the polls, at least for a little while.

Heart trouble is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But then, neither is getting killed in a war whose sole purpose was to validate some distant, arrogant politician's dreams of oil and empire. So I guess it evens out.

he is a govn't official why didn't check into a VA hospital?? Oh thats right the va is under funded by a billion dollars and they no longer can provide the good care he needs, but he will send our mutilated soldiers to one, they don't alot of care like he does

Sirena, there was a Buffy thread at C&L yesterday.

Like we all knew what was wrong with JFK when he was elected or for that matter, during his entire presidency!!!

If someone tell you, "You have acute angina" . . . DON'T TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT!

May Goddess in her Infinite Wisdom show you the same Mercy you show Others.

Translation - you do not deserve to die, much less painlessly. May you live forever in a penniless state in the hell on earth you've worked so tirelessly to create.

If Darth Cheney dies, I'll do the 'happy dance' nekkid in my living room.
But remember the line from The Wizard of Oz, "Oh, that was the Wicked Witch of the East, this is the Wicked Witch of the West. She's worse than the other one."
Translation: He who follows Cheney may be a bigger Dick. :)

People knew that FDR got around in a wheelchair--our leaders used to make personal appearances in front of audiences composed of real people--but he didn't want photographs of him put into the newspapers. I'm not sure I would have agreed with this policy, but it's in no way comparable to the veil of secrecy this politburo exercises.

Cheney is a walking time bomb, but he's so scarce--and so hated by so many--that we'll never know if he goes into the hospital.

chill the champagne ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Uni...e_of_succession

In 2000 he was giving the speech at the Air Force Academy graduation. He had to stop for a short while and take a pill, Lynn came up, took his cowboy hat off and wiped his face with a cool wet cloth.

He should just stay in his bunker and definitely not go to high altitude places. Then again...

correction: it was 2001.

apologies if I made anyone hurl.

Wow, check out Mark's Wikipedia Link. It's their entry for the order of succession to the Presidency. At the bottom is the statement: "Note, that as of 2005, the Sec. of Homeland Security has not been put into the line of succession." How far are we from having that slipped in, say right after VP & having "our" KGB take over in that manner? Just a thought...

I agree,American people, at the time, knew. They knew the extent to which FDR was crippled. They also were aware and cared about the stress his health in general was under.

He kept the fact of his disabilities in front of the public . He only hid the unpleasant signs.

People saw him walk upright even though they knew, and he wanted them to know, that he could not stand.

We, who grew up seeing the films and photographs may have been decieved. But we were not his voters. Their relationship with him was more complex.

With all the lies and cover-ups coming from this sham of a democracy known as "W's second term (or first for that matter)", nothing surprises me.

What is worrysome, though, is this:

Vice President Karl Rove

"shudders"

Burn in hell, Dick.

Remember when Falwell caught pneumonia and had heart issues a couple of months ago? He got well.

Perhaps Cheney won't expire because so many people want him gone.

If he does passes away, they will take him around and prop him up like the guys did in the movie "Weekend at Bernie's".

The thought of them parading around a deceased Dick Cheney is enough to make me hurl my dinner...and it would be six months before this Administration would own up to the fact of Cheney's death...

oooo they took over the hospital...

http://nyc.indymedia.org/newswir...53774/ index.php

: After the Secret Service secured the Vail Valley Medical Center, including the parking lot, the Vice President arrived under his own power and checked in at the orthopedic center under the name ‘Dr. Hoffman’. He was immediately whisked to the adjacent cardiac unit, suffering from what was described to me as ‘an angina attack’. The security was so high that a Secret Service agent wouldn’t let an ER nurse out of the bathroom that she had gone into just before the Veep arrived. ‘Get back in there,’ the agent told her. Confounded, she called her husband on her cell phone, telling him 'something big' was going on."

Line of succession :

http://www.fsmlaw.org/fsm/code/ t...02_Ch01.htm#102

§ 102. Vacancy in the Office of Vice President.
If the Vice President dies, resigns, is impeached, or becomes President, the Congress shall elect a Vice President and declare a vacancy in the Congress.

so anyone in congress eh?

John, you gotta go to sparklit.com and get a POLL for the site so we can VOTE on replacement!

I've always wondered how the repigs would solve the "succession" problem. If Cheney resigns, he will still have just as much influence behind the scenes in the shadows where he's most comfortable, and where he would have even less accountability. Meanwhile, he and President Rove will quietly select the next puppet.

"Welcome to the Soviet Politburo. We now no longer have the right to know about the serious health problems of our leaders."

I guess when they start playing the somber music on the TV, we'll know he's kicked the bucket.

I have seen no mention of this in the MSM. why?

He is being treated for the bird flu. 6 out of 10 chicken hawks come down with it.

Brian can dance "nekkid" in my living room any day :)

Oh my god, did they say he went in because of an old football injury? Did the dog eat his homework too?

They should do a poll and ask people whether the White House is doing a good job lying lately.
