Well, after reading your entry and this, it is obvious that time has changed nothing with the French. Just as de Gaulle tried to suck out all the glory for what the Americans and British did, the French today are looking to do the same with Iraq. Not that this surprises me any. France has too many interests in Iraq to just let it go without causing a stink.
