Ah, #8 - I am now routinely conducting the familial equivalent of the Concert of Europe under Metternich: running shuttle diplomacy between relatives and actually resolving their issues, finding solutions that "meet everyone's needs" and keep the precarious balance of powers intact, while generally getting what I want.

No 3 was beautifully summed up, yes. Although since I've never watched the programme, I'm not too au fait with the psychological style of Frasier Crane. I'm not sure who my role model is for this, then.
