hello
I'm new here *waves*
Just wanted to i nearly (not quite) wet myself when i read this:
'I envy them because they represent the pursuit of perfection which I won't attain, and because they stare out at me from advertising boards and magazine adverts and I resent the way that they say, "Hey, if you looked like me, your life would be trouble-free and silky-smooth", '
and where it says LIFE i read WIFE.
that is all
bye bye!
(nice writing btw)

I remembered... it's from the 1982 film "Summer Lovers"
http://imdb.com/title/tt0084737/
starring Peter Gallagher (he of the bushy eyebrows) and Daryl Hannah (she of the infinitely long legs) about a young American couple who summer in Mykonos and have a three-way with a French archeologist. The French woman uttered that classic line about jealousy. I'm trying to remind myself of this as I battle my own green-eyed tendencies (never mind the fact that I actually have green eyes, making it that much harder!)

Curious that you posted this today. A week ago, I posted this on my own BLOG:

"Jealousy doesn't prove how much you love someone, it only proves how insecure you are."
- Line from some movie I saw many years ago (title forgotten)

Fabulous, as always.
And my colleagues are still wondering what the hell made me snort with laughter (it was the Skee Lo reference that started it!)
