for what it's worth, i had distinctly murderous thoughts about a man on the central line last night, who was scrabbling thru a notebook and screwing up bits of paper. And that journey was only ten minutes.

Hah! You're just in Camden. I've go to make my way down from Archway. Go down the A1 to Holloway Road? Nope, traffic crawls. Take replacement bus to Euston? Faster, but then the Victoria Line is out southbound. Thameslink from Kentish Town? You're having a laugh. (I shouldn't even mention the twice annual service that Upper Holloway gets) Grrrrr... Just my way of saying I feel your pain.

OTOH, if it's found that the derailments were due to poor maintenance then Mayor Ken's giant "I-told-you-so" grin will light up the city at night. So it's not all bad.
