this is just a sad representation of the scapegoat mentality that pervades our fucked up society. as you said, it's sad and it sucks, but this was a grown man that made a dumb decision, albeit a drunken one. there is NO way that it should have ever even been considered a murder case, although it was dumb and irresponsible of the guy to give his drunk ass budy GHB to help him sleep. if you can't sleep after a 12 pack then you've had a little other, uh, assistance in your party, namely coke, speed, ex, meth, or something. this case sounds majorly fucked up.
