Gravatar One interesting thing about he language that Mr. Bush, like Mr. Reagan before him, chooses to use is that it communicates many more things than it says. By which I mean that a Bill Clinton might have been able to speak more clearly to a precise situation, but Mr. Bush relies on words and ideas that have conveyed unchanging messages to us for thousands of years. Like Lincoln he plays upon the mystic chords of memory and draws forth what's already within us, rather than trying to create afresh and cram it down our throats. His words resonate. That's an unusual thing in our culture.
