Gravatar Strong Bad rocks! As I have said on more than one occasion in my blog. And with the interview in wired with Mike and Matt Chapman (http://www.wired.com/news/culture/ 0,1284,59261,00.html) helped promote them further.

Now, tis time to go play some Trogdor, the Burninator!

Gravatar Noise cancelling headphones are genuinely cool technology, but they have significant limits (they're only really effective at cancelling low frequencies, for instance), and the sound quality is always lower than comparable non-actively noise cancelling cans.

Etymotic does make the finest in-ear headphones around, and there's a lot of situations where I think they're great (airplane trips, walking around). I'm not comfortable wearing them for extended periods, though, and I almost always have headphones on for the majority of the day while I'm working.

For that kind of use, I *highly* recommend Sennheiser's 5xx series (though stay away from the ones with the fake-leather muffs). They are by far the most comfortable headphones I've ever used, and the sound quality is up there with the best of them (I think Grado sounds a little better, but they're uncomfortable after a few minutes).

In the ~$100 range, the Sennhesier HD-570s are great ($99 at JandR.com) - I wear mine about 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
