I had a 1976 or 77 4 speed Colt coupe for about 10 years. I loved that little red car. I had to leave it on the highway one evening when it developed engine problems. During the night someone hit it and it was pronounced DOA. I cried as I walked away from it for the last time. I still have the gear shift knob. ;)

It looked a lot like this:

Gravatar Dave,

A good one to read in addition to or along with Weber would be "Religion and the Rise of Capitalism" by R.H. Tawney.

As a Calvinist - I cringe just a bit to see Weber's book called a Calvinist manifesto, as one of Calvin's major contributions to the rise of capitalism among Protestants was his essentially antinomian views on usury.

Gravatar Thanks for the link. I just saw that First Things has an article (not yet online) by Novak on Weber as well. I surmise that the neocons are attempting to claim Weber and save him from his where ever he was damned to by the historians who feel they've refuted his thesis?
