The talk about wisdom reminded me of a comment by Miles Kingston - a uk journalist who passed away this month.
Asked about the difference between knowledge and wisdom he said-
Knowledge is when you know that a tomato is a fruit
Wisdom is when you don't put tomato in a fruit salad

I suppose a wise guy is someone who puts a tomato in a fruit salad anyway. (Or is that a cutting edge chef...?)
