I seriously doubt it. These people seem to more be in favour of letting the old die off than anything else.
The point on PR deserves a response, but I think it's all been said before in one place or another 
Well, not every greenie is a weenie, it's true. But this is a paradigm in which a group of weenies could do a lot of damage. The rhetoric has traction, and with some it has a great deal of traction.
