There have been some extremely well done "piggy-backed" movies, such as Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within which brought both a story line, worldview, and then-cutting edge animation together in a form worthy of the name "Final Fantasy."

Recently when I was at the theatre seeing Serenity (which, if you are to take it past its surface value raises many interesting questions which I'm debating bringing up over at Before Dawn.. I've become more a comment blogger recently) there was a preview for Doom. I have to say it looks horrible.

I think Doom as it stands is a terrible choice for a crossover, and the jump always brings up problems. Sometimes they can be overcome, I'm sure.
