Yep. The thing is whatever knowledge or gift we pick up is often 'only' yesterday's news. Unless you are a teacher - and exercise repetition.
And there there are moments of spiritual 'learning' 'knowledge' enlightenment, but we are distracted back into the world of activity.
Dis-ease and remedies/cures or even 'miracles' People not excluding I are often keen to believe, yet so easily doubt. "If you have a grain of faith you'll be able to tell this mountain to move and it will move" I always thought was more than a metaphor. Even more than man's will to build pyramids or skyscrapers, but literally man's will over matter.

So Plato, any comment on:
(A) Jacques Distler's questions on LQG Landscape
1) What classes of quantum field theories can be incorporated in LQG and what classes cannot?
2) In what sense do the former constitute “most”?
3) In light of the fact that “most” can be coupled to LQG, how are we to deal with Georgi’s objection (which is discussed at greater length here)?
(B) Cosmic Variance on the "flat" accelerating universe, and the preposterous pancake universe?

IN regards to quantum gravity itself, there is a "long list on my homepage" that was part of the research I needed to do in order to understand somethings about it.
Part of that work on LQG was understanding "high energy photons" and how this action in "terms of glast" increased a deeper understanding of what was happening with those cosmological events?
In this sense quark gluonic plasma would have detailed a deeper look into how we assess the basis of the beginnings of the universe?
Path integral approaches then would have had some consistent measure with how we see these exchanges, as Glast reveals the deeper implications of gamma ray detection.
"The holes" were not about the blackhole per say, but about what happens when gravity creates a state of equillibrium in the cosmological spacetime fabric?
Graviton exchanges and information in the bulk would have also pointed out the nature of the effect of "energy dissipations" as these gravitons spoke in regards to the energy valuation, of when, gravity was strongest or weakest?
One uses the graviton(strings) while the other(LQG) does not?
It is nice Lee Smolin is explaining to "nc" how appropriate that he had enlisted himself to study other aspects of quantum gravity, and is therefor telling him, the need to understand these approaches to quantum gravity.
It is not completely clear but this is what I have deduced so far.
Jacque hs rasied the bar a bit you might say, by realizing that more had been released from Smolin's perspective then had before. This is good dynamcial relation that has been moved a step above what has always been restricted in some sense, by the same ole same ole.
That Jacque is purposely writng to a "blog topic of his own" is a good sign as well as Lee's move to follow and continue.
You might say, this is a new change in the discussion of quantum gravity.

Hmmm.....why and how shall we assess what the universe is doing? Friedmann equation?
Steinhardt and Turok?
One consequence of general relativity is that the curvature of space depends on the ratio of rho to rho(crit). We call this ratio Omega = rho/rho(crit). For Omega less than 1, the Universe has negatively curved or hyperbolic geometry. For Omega = 1, the Universe has Euclidean or flat geometry. For Omega greater than 1, the Universe has positively curved or spherical geometry. We have already seen that the zero density case has hyperbolic geometry, since the cosmic time slices in the special relativistic coordinates were hyperboloids in this model.
Why is this happening?

Q,
Even more than man's will to build pyramids or skyscrapers, but literally man's will over matter.
Or to embed "model assumptions" in the very nature of such structures?
While all the time "pointing" to the base(pyramidal) and the basis of matter distinctions(earth), it was really showing, the finest with how we might see "all matters" become in relation to the energies we see in reductionsist features? That, "the base" was really pointing upward?
The "triangle" represented the mind and the ascention to the finer ideas that would/could flow into all minds?

Hi Plato: Interesting comment you made on Cosmic Variance. I have been arguing for a changing speed of light to explain supernova redshifts. If the quantity hc is fixed but c changes, then h must also change. GR and QM may be linked. Shall we pester them some more at CV?

More on homepage
Fine Structure Constant?
Variable "constants" would also open the door to theories that used to be off limits, such as those which break the laws of conservation of energy. And it would be a boost to versions of string theory in which extra dimensions change the constants of nature at some places in space-time.

HI Plato: No more comments at the Cosmic Variance discussion; we seem to have shut them up. Either they think I am not worth replying to, or they are busy writing papers claiming GM=tc^3 for themselves.
