i wonder how will they select the 200 selected scouts??
to me, two things stand out in this article:
-the target of 20 king scouts from the state next year
-the task force to promote scouting and provide voluntary service
yea.. i agree also..
wad will they come up with? hmmmz
how will they achieve the king scout target? force the scouts? be more lenient? very shoddy indeed if you ask me.
it's good they realise interest in scouting has dropped and want to do something about it but do they know why this is happening and how to overcome the situation? just having old men talk about it will do no good and the current scouts are already so far off from what scouting is, how are they in a position to help?
200 selected scouts....can they even come up with that many truely influential, charismatic figures to do the job?
i think 200 is a little bit too overwhelming.
interest in scouting is not the only thing that has been declining. guiding too for that matter. haha.
so i suggest the guides be recruited to talk to the scouts and the scouts be recruited to talk to the guides...

if thats the case right, the recriuts wont even bother to work on skills. they'd rather opt to flirt around. isn't that.. worse?? it's like... sleeping members. >.
true...for ex.,only 8 members attended kerachut and they were like half dead during the campfire,total silence after a patrol's sketch..until when the f4's told the pl to give yell.during our time,each patrol will be rushing to give a yell as we want to impress the excos.Besides that ,in the circular,they were told to record their sketch[compulsory]..but none of the patrols recorded their sketch,the skecth was done there and then...they dun seem to have the interest

guess we gotta change how things goes in scoutin..
instead of recording the sketch for 'small' camps, why not try the impromptu aka live approach instead? i think it would prove to be interesting...
thats why, i dunno how you recruit your members. but what happened in my school was that during recriutment drive, the seniors actually told the form 1's about meeting scouts during camps.. and the like. my opinion is that it's not very effective because that's only half true. it actually backfires.
natijahnya... scouting and guiding di kalangan masyarakat moden ini sudah died-ed. HEH! unless.. some really really really DRASTIC change is taken.
