as i've mentioned, i've reservations about this year's ctc and any future ones for that matter but i guess we'll just have to see now, don't we?

the no. of members in a patrols really surprise me..( guess a fifth patrol is possible ) but it should b for the betta of the troop. Cant wait to see them live in action when i'm back from kuantan. good luck to all..
i think they're going for quality instead of quantity. i rather have 4 good patrols than 5 average ones.

but miniature gadgets are not that difficult.
There's has been rumours spreading about past leaders wanting to come back n join the camp as EXCOs. I would like to remind them that their time is already over and the troop has been passed down to the current batch of leaders. It is okay if they want to come back n help as helpers but to don their uniform n grace the horse shoe again is an insult to the constitution and the current EXCOs. Have faith in the current batch of leaders. Have faith in the troop.
lolz. this is nothing new la but actually the excos should be proud instead of fearing them. i'm sure there's plenty the current members can learn from the oldies but if the current excos do not welcome them then it's best they rethink of another way to contribute then.
case study:
a group of 7gts excos that left the troop for many years and already gainfully employed, took 1 week leave to participate in traplex and setup a model campsite and participated in some in-camp competitions like backwoods etc. din participate in pre-camp comps for obvious reasons. so it's not all bad, just the perspective you look from and the intentions of the participating party that may seem wrong.

someone of u all might think i'm crazy to post this but it is about time i going to lepas my anger..i seriously damn pissed off right now..i dont wan to pin point who but whoever did it ,please take notice...i recently heard ppl saying ctc this year is going to be a flop..wtf is this..ppl from our troop telling this kind of things to some guides..causing us to have difficulty in getting hold of good guides coming to ctc.all the rangers telling their guides the year ctc sucks..dont go...got people even say we form 4 lousy..then why we form 4 are given post..cause no one else to choose .if thats the case i dont wan even hold the post as a tl ..i admit la this year ctc wouldnt be so grand like past years but we r trying our best..if u all noe it is going to flop why go tell the whole wide world until causing us so much difficulty...this is wad ur all call 'HAVE FAITH IN THE TROOP'..nonsense..i knoe we did a lot of mistakes dis year..but i guarantee we learned from it and if u all don t even trust us in wat we are doing ..must have well sacked us ...There's more to say but i am damn fucking pissed off ritee now..
kshern, I'm not pointing out that they should not come back n help. In fact, I encourage them to come back n help the troop anytime n in any way they can. Refering to your case study, yes they can come n build their model campsite. But suddenly jumping on the EXCO bandwagon is something totally unheard of. What post are they going to get? No, this is not the matter of post or power only.. What will the members think? If they, the past leaders dun even respect the constitution how can anyone expect the juniors to respect it? In the end, what's the use of it? Do come back n help for the sake of the troop but please go away if u're just there for the glory n girls...

well, it's really up to the current exco's. if they don't feel comfortable having ppl come back, they have every right to tell them off. if they want it to be a camp without guides/rangers, they have the prerogative to do so. if they want it to be a closed camp even forbidden for ex-scouts, why not?
but if the exco's are short-handed and need ppl to help during inspections, then the helpers would definitely have to don uniforms to make it official. it will be more confusing if they were to walk into a campsite and start giving marks and scolding the campers in casual wear.
all the confusion can be avoided if an official announcement is made during pre-camp or the first day of camp, in what capacity those helpers are during the duration of the camp. of course, they will be subservient to the current exco's regardless of what position they held previously. and yes, this has happened before.
like i said, it's all up to the current exco's to decide what they want and how they want it.
Well, kshern i guess u're right. It's really up to them now.. I was just voicing out wat I feel isn't right. Best I keep quiet for now. I think Mr. TL misunderstood what I wrote or mayb it was me who misunderstood wat he meant in his post..

CTC were sucessful every year not because the troop has good scout or guides. but the true reason is because the camp has potential boys and girls. Its a tranning camp afterall. It was always ctc that produce heroes and push everyone to thier limits. It wont b fun having super scout doing super things as expected. I would prefer seeing slack souts becomin great scouts. ( if u look at this logically, this year ctc has the potential to be the most sucessful ctc ever in history ) make the imposibble. possible..

dude, old scouts who are above 20 cant tahan those young girls at camp..im sure most may agree..man they looked too young when i was at ctc last year..old people want different things..young girls expect different things..so, if, if means if, old scouts do come back n help, its not for the girls la..
..did i prove my point? my point is i am old, haha
caveat: anyway, i was once young before and i looked at young girls when i was young. so, enjoy looking at young girls when you are young cos when you are not young you wont want young girls anyway. peace

looking at it logically, that is potentially the biggest insult to the current troop members.

i believe he was referring to a group of teens (below 20's) rather than over 20's, who happened to just leave school within the past few years but yes, the girls are too young, immature and shallow for the older ex-scouts although sadly there are still those who prey on them.
It depends on how you define success.. if this ctc could surprise others and prove that its still a worth coming camp ( after all the bad reviews ). ..and if the Leaders and scouts really nailed their chance and prove that next year and many years to come, ctc will only b better. Isn't it even more successful compared to those past ctc that always tell us NEXT YEAR CTC die ( i am sure this is common ).
seriously, if i am stil a scout in this troop, i think this is the best chance ever to show my qualities.. i will b glad to make those that called us slack to eat their own words. And tell the world that this is only the beginning of ctc rather than the end.
I always believe..Insults will only make human stronger ( depends if u are positive minded or not )..
If that’s the case, take my words as an insult if this could put you on fire and prove to me something during the camp.
