Comments for Perspectives

Gravatar Hi Domnna
Yes I agree its a good question but I have had people I'm coaching myself who need a few more prompts and pushes at times to get them to think in new directions
Have a happy Christmas and New year yourself

Gravatar Jon, my clients love when I ask them that question because it gets them of the total focus of what's not working to what they're not paying attention to. I have never had a client balk at being asked that question. On the contrary, they really 'get it" and recognize I'm trying to work with them to see broader, deeper and to what they're not considering at all.

As a Shadow Coach we live in the world of "I don't know" every day.

Best for the new year!
Donna

Gravatar While I agree with the main thrust of your posting, getting people to ask themslves "What do I need to know that I don't know?" is very difficult for most individuals and its often why they are talking to a coach in the first place. I therefore much prefer your suggestion that we focus on possible thinking "roadblocks" or potentail limiting assumptions as a key intervention approach
