Hmmmmmm, I think that the kittens may show up again. Six kitties? I think it could be done. There are four of us and the doggie.
Plus, I know your Mommy has a huge heart. There's always room for another little Manx in there!
It's not easy to say no to your heart, and sometimes even knowing it was the right thing to do makes your heart hurt more.
Your poor mom. It is so good of her to feed those ferals. It is so sad that there are so many unwanted kitties in this world. 
Is there a rescue group in your area that could maybe take the mom and her kittens in?
We can't imagine 5 or 6 kitties. 2 of us are challenging enough for our humans, and the most they can ever see dealing with is 3!
Abby, you mommy knows what's best for everyone involved, so please tell her that she did what's right for her and you. and you never know, she may meet the little tuxie baby again - the baby just might haf been too small and the tortie manxie momma just wanted to protekt them. chances are they're not very far away at all.

Our Mommy totally understands because she is having such a hard time deciding about LK. Sadly we cannot save them all but we really wish we could. Maybe someone who really really needed new friends came along the kitties and found them and took them home.

My mom knows exactly how your momma feels. Mom fell in love with a little feral kitten, but knew that 5 cats may be too much. She still has a heavy heart about it. She knows the kitten is well taken care out on her friend's farm, but still.....

A similar thing happened to my Grandma bean. She really didn't want a cat at the time but when one of the feral kittens that was playing in her garden (she set out water for them) got stung by a bee she HAD to take it to a vet! Then she felt terrible that she had not nabbed the other kitten & the momma to when she had a chance. She didn't see them for weeks and it flooded, she was sick with worry. Then out of the blue momma and kitten showed up at her back door! hehe It was me! Will purr your ferals will have just as happy story.
But they would have been very lucky to have your Momma as a Mom! I hope they find some good homes though.

Our Mommy would be so worried and sad too. But we're sure she did the right thing - probably later in spring your Momma will see him/her romping around! And you'd need another giant "spa" if you had six!!!
Well, it's for the best that the baby is with its natural Mom for now. We sure hope that someone can trap the mom and get her fixed. If you can get the kittens away from her between 6-8 weeks, then you can socialize them to humans. After 8 weeks, it's iffy as to how well they socialize. Of course, ideally, they would be with their mom cat until 8-9 weeks so they could be totally taught the ways to be a cat and be properly weaned, etc., but with ferals, you've got to get them used to humans if they are to get a forever home. Anyway, when Maw got to 6, she knew that was more than enough cats. Now with 10, she's on the verge of pulling her hair out and she doesn't work outside the home.

Kittens are hard to resist! Maw's got it right...da momma cat and all her kittens will need to be trapped and fixed. She was either dumped while pregnant or yoo gots a intact male wandering around. Yoo'll see da babies again, mom will teach dem where da food is!

Awwww, yur sweet Momma! She's so wunnerful, lookin aftur those preshus feral kitties. And yes, we think she did the right thing since the kitten is such a little bitty baby right now -- but hopefully as she keep takin care of the ferals she'll see the little tuxie manxie again and the little one will be ready to be tooked home. What a lucky kitty to have your Momma and yur fambly as a fureffur home!

I'm sending a heart full of love and snuggles to your wonderful Mom! What a wonderful lady she is to look after the precious feral cats. And I believe that she will find tuxie manxie again! Right now, he/she is so much of an ickle baby kitty and needs his/her kitty Momma, but when he/she is a little older, your Momma will be the purrfect human Momma, and he/she will have a wonderful forever home.

The kittens might show up again once they are a bit older! Your Mom should think about contacting the Humane Society and have them come out to apply the TNR Trap-Neuter-Release program with this colony. They neuter/spay all the members of a feral cat colony and release them back. So the colony can live happily ever after but don't produce more and more and more and more kittens...
I think your Momma did the right thing Abby dear, kittens need their own mummy until they're old enough to be weaned. I think she is a saint to feed the feral cats and that the mummy cat and kittens will turn up again xxx
