As long as there is a computerized system of determining the rankings for anything, there will always be people able to play the system. But one thing is for certain- any change in a grading system which makes is more difficult to stumble onto new sites is almost definitely bad for small-time guys like us.
The new changes might not be bad for The Little Guy. If it makes it harder for people to game the system, it could even help those who are not trying to.
