We have gas heat. The gas is going up - so we are going to start heating with a wood stove. Not so good pollution wise.
I would love a windmill - can't afford it. There has to be a way to provide incentive for ordinary people who don't have thousands of extra dollars laying around to get in on some of this technology.
As for the go-go juice for the cars - well. We'll just pay through the nose for it... We're certainly not going to give up driving.
Very few people can/will give up driving, but almost everyone can/will cutback some when the cost is high enough.
When I lived in Tucson (80-81) there was lots of interest in solar energy down there. Wind power is kind of hit or miss, so it's got to be backed up with regular sources.
You probably won't spend much on gas heat for the next few months. :D
