I wouldn't carry a sign if someone paid me to do it. I'll go to one of the Omaha area tea parties, but incognito. The FBI will be taking pictures and names.

Another tea party no-no: bandannas (or Palestinian Keffiyehs) over the face, like those the self-styled anarkisti like to wear.

A note for those who wish to create custom sign.

I used gimp, open source image editor, download free. Set new doc to 17 inches wide, 11 inches high. Set background color to something you like ( I used blue for one sign). Use text tool to create your slogan. Use font picker to get a typeface you like. Set text color to proper contrast (white contrasts nicely with blue background), resize and move to center of background, center text, etc.

Save as .jpg file. Then load into either a word doc, or print is pdf if you have a pdf printer. You can grab one of those as well, which sets up as a print driver. Output will be pdf file.

setup a fedex/kinkos online account, upload file. Be sure to choose card stock, color and 11 x 17 "landscape" to print. Pick up at preferred office.

You can preview the print job online to make sure it is what you like.

I used a deep blue background and white text, pretty fat and italicized. In gimp just browse the fonts until you find what looks right.

I know this note lacks technical detail but you can figure it out easily enough. Main point: say what you want with style and impact. And you can do it today, right now. Print job will be ready in about 2 hours, to pick up.

Don't forget wooden sticks and staples or glue to assemble the sign.
