This is a nice little fern, and I could see planting it in front of a large leafed plant.

Some of my ferns are real slow pokes about this whole coming up in spring ritual. My royal fern (Osmunda regalis) is just sending up its first frond now. It's supposed to grow fairly tall, but I think my growing season is too short for it to really get going.
