Gravatar Not the fronds, but the croziers - the curled-up young fronds when they first emerge (and they're still soft). I'm afraid I don't know how you prepare them, but I suspect that you'd probably have to remove the hairs somehow. I also recall hearing something about it not being good to eat too many.

Gravatar Ah, thank you Christopher. In that case, the slugs have been getting a head start on me, as they chewed the only crozier I had when I bought it.

Very interesting post too. I think mine is the genuine article, but I'll have to compare the photos closely!
