I've been hearing a lot of reports of people drilling gas tanks for the fuel, since most cars nowadays have anti siphon features in the fill tube. the loosened lug nits were just for kicks and giggles, but you're not laughing, I'm not either. twerp needs a boot up is ass.

Thank G-d you are okay Abouna. That is awful. I realize that gas is expensive and old car, new car - if they are going to steal the gas they will get it either way, but I have not heard of this going on anywhere-ad least not in Northern Virginia and the gas here is almost five dollars.
On another note, if they wanted your gas, if they drilled to get it, you would not have been able to drive more than a block on fumes, maybe two. Which leads to my second point, they did not take your gas, it leaked all over the place you parked, where you drove and on the highway. Then they messed with your lugs? That is an odd thing to do if you just want someone's gas, which they did not want since you had gas.
It could just be a prank, but usually, in that case there would have been others in the complex reporting this or the police would tell you of similar incidents.
I am concerned this may have been done to you deliberately. Do you have any problems with troublesome neighbors? Perhaps it is my dective nature working overtime, but this just does not seem random to me. It seems more deliberately targeted towards you. Think about who might be upset with you - are there gang bangers you may have witnessed to about our Lord and Savior? People are nutz these days and you really do not know who the heck your neighbors are these days. I live in an apt. complex too and do not bother with neighbors because I do not want problems. I keep to myself. Fortunately our unit is a terrace ground unit - like having our own mini condo so we come and go right out our front door. We only go into the building vestibule to get our mail. Thank G-d.
I do not mean to put fear in you or be an alarmist, but these days you must think of all possibilities. To be on the safe side Abouna, for your own peace of mind - I would talk to the police in your neck of the woods one more time just to put any of these and or your concerns to rest.
Our complex has two police officers living here - one on each end. It helps. If you do not have that, or some sort of security perhaps the local police will agree to monitor the lots at your complex every hour or so each night. Get the management to help arrange that - they can do that. Do not let them tell you they can't. They do it here.
I am happy your weekend turned out well jut the same and that the grankids were not disappointed.
G-d bless you and keep you my friend.

Mark Krauss; Who ever did it may have thought it was funny, but I am pissed as hell.
Layla; The police did tell me that there has been a rash of vandalism to cars, not only here at the complex, but all over the town where I live. Some people have had their break lines cut, some have water or sugar poured in their gas tanks.
There were two holes in my gas tank, both were punched in with a screw driver, which can be seen by their shape. One was just above the seam, the other was a much smaller hole on the bottom of the tank.
The police come through here at night about twice a week. The Town of Webster is a small town with a small police force. A lot of the trouble we have here is caused by people coming from out side the town.

Abouna, this is appalling! As it turned out, it only added expense and inconvenience to you. But it could have cost you your life had you had an accident or had the fumes caught fire. If they ever catch this low life, he should be charged with attempted murder!

Paula's right! They need more than an old-fashioned ass whooping or a kick in their butts, Reverend. They need to spend a long time in jail. These idiots could have easily killed you! I'm so glad that you and Munchkin are okay. You must have an Angel watching over you.

Thank the Lord that you and little Munchkin are safe!! And more importanly that your grandbabies were not in the vehicle at the time.
I smell foul play and I am concerned. There is no doubt in my mind that the Lord sent His angels to protect you.
I would keep up with the police and ask them to patrol your area more closely, we could have lost you Abouna and that does not sit well with me.
I am so thankful you are safe.

YES- thank the Lord that the two of you are safe, and that your grandkids were not also in the car.
Abouna, I suspect also that this was gasoline stealing-- until the fact of the loosened lugnuts are considered.
This is attempted murder;
I want you to be very, very careful and watch everyone who shows any MORE interest in your car (as in, how did he get back here?!)
I am so thankful you and Munchkin were not hurt.

Wow, Father, this is awful! Thank God you and Munchkin are okay. I don't mind telling you that I would gladly punch whoever did this to you in the mouth. They obviously need it.
My dad has a Ford Mustang convertible, and a few months ago, some schmuck decided to rip the canvas cover. Thankfully, the insurance covered the replacement hood, but if whoever did it happened to do it again, Dad's insurance co. would probably drop him.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts for Munchkin and I. The police are pretty sure that the culprit(s) are teens who don't live in this town, but who are responsible for several break-ins and serious car vandalisms in my area.
So far they have not been able to "pin" anything on them, but they are getting close.
Karen; Since my car is a 1993 and I am living on a very limited income, the only insurance I have on the car liability, so my insurance won't cover any of the damage. My son took care of the wheel, but until I can afford to buy a new gas tank, I cannot use the car, which means I'm stuck.

Well Abouna I am so happy you have that confirmed from the police. I would hate, G-d forbid for someone to be after you so to speak. I guess I am just overly cautious. We live in such a sick world Abouna.
G-d bless you and keep you my friend.
