I used to love storms like that until I moved to Arkansas. Usually storms like that mean tornadoes.

I hope little Munchkin will be okay, I know how some pets get absolutely terrified with storms such as the ones you are describing.

Jungle Mom reminded me...our German Shepherd back home hates loud noises. He's been known to tear up screens and even siding trying to get in the house during storms, fireworks, and neighbor's target practice. Poor baby.
His friend, a Black Lab, was shot 5 times by her former owner's neighbor. She doesn't get to excited about noises she knows aren't going to result in getting shot. LOL
