Gravatar a few extremists commit terror in US and Europe and 1.2 billion Muslims have to bear the burden and have to be forever apologetic and their religious teachings have to be re-written.

500,000 Arabs are killed by cruel iraq sanctions before 911 and 750,000 Arabs are slaughtered in iraq after 911 so the west can feel secure, and no apologies, no soul searching, except we get a Hitler-youth Pope telling us we are violent people. And all the the Western violence against Arabs is committed by a majority vote, and represents the well of the West. I am not even going to mention the war crimes of colonialism.

amazing how the decks is stacked so that no matter how many of us Arabs are killed it never reflects negatively on Wester values and religions.

Sick world.

Gravatar The deaths you mention were all at the hands of Saddam Hussein, his followers and the various takfiri groups like Al Qaeda which have flooded into Iraq to murder people at random. Who is responsible for their actions? It is dehumanizing not to hold them responsible for their actions. To see in it the victimization of Arabs is to disempower Arabs. It feels righteous, but it is self defeating.

Gravatar The problem with mankind is that we naturally want to kill and exterminate anyone different than us. You find it everywhere - not just among Muslims. Look at the Israelis, the Americans, the Japanese, the Germans, the Indians, the Pakistanis, the Brits, the Mongols,.......

The only solution is changing the heart of man. The only one who can do that is Jesus Christ.

Gravatar In your logo post, you invite muslims to use it, even if they do not agree with parts of the statement that terrorism is bad. That alone should tell you something...

The Arabs are where the Germans and Europe was in 1933 -- and the only thing that will make people come to their senses is having to bury their parents and grandparents in mass graves, clear up the mess of the flattened countries and stand in shock and horror at the pointless insanity that genocide is.

When your grandchildren look at each other in disbelief and ask 'Why?', and have to deal with the horrible trauma of having war-children that survived hell on earth as parents(bringing up your parents does make you a strong person), this is when moderate muslims will regain their religion and culture, but for now, the religious gangsters are ruling your house.

For the fool who thinks the Pope is a Nazi -- being a member of the Hitler Youth was compulsory back then and he was a little boy back then, not a man who knows what it would have meant or who would have had the choice of saying no. And btw, those jihadi toddler clubs that train little Palestinians to dream of being a jihadi are far worse than the Hitler Youth, at least Hitler Youth were assumed to survive being 'heros'.

Study this time in European history very carefully, look especially what happened to the little people and how they were intimidated and tempted into fascism... then look up from your books and around you, and you will see many similarities. Same old story line and archetypes, similar 'you should life righteously' commandments, the same sense of 'we are the greatest', slightly different fashion sense and new actors. Same outcome in the end.

Gravatar I don't think people should apoalgise for things that they have not done, or did not have control over. comparing islamic people to nazi's ? a better comparison would be comparing the chinese government and there treatment of fulong gong to the nazis.
the only think that bothers me is when something makes it to the news that is bad abotu islamic people, very little feedback from the muslim community comes out. maybe thats the media.
in australia we had some boys kicked out of school for urinating on and burning a bible, but very little was said by the muslim community.

Gravatar Words in hearts healing

Then the Lord whispered in our hearts…..
Words can reach where weapons cannot

We asked our village sage, how can we restore
warmth to the face of our souls when
the favorite poisons of Satan,
fear, despair, and hatred alight
upon innocent hearts as ashes
from the funeral pyre of joy

How can the eyes of faith close to sleep when
across the night bed of hope
sheets of despairing pall are spread and
the lurid hollow eyes of perjury beam, and
subvert words of sacred text, laughing
as divine counsel is debased and done violence

Dear sage, we asked, how can goodness smile when
unabashed hatred slaps virtue off the face of shame
emboldening hatreds minions, who feverishly
twist and mutilate the morals of their victims
deceiving those souls until they believe that
sin is virtue, murder is justice, and hatred is love

As he spoke, his downcast voice intoned that
riotously, by perverse commission
Satan's minions bathe in rivers of wine in Hades, and
with vapid mocking lust, they harvest
those deceived souls, reaped by suicides sickle

Your path to heaven cannot be paved with
chaste corpses across a river of blood, embrace
the dreadful ebb and flow of truth in your heart, meet
doubt and dishonor when they surface, for they
reveal to you that compassion, not revenge, fulfills the soul

His voice beamed as a bright light when he said
bravely, deeply, reach into your heart
without guile, without deceit, without prejudice
touch faith there, then inexorably
God's words in hearts healing
like the timeless rain, drawn unrelenting to the sea
will swell into a profound unsounded amity
in the soul's oceanic sanctuary, and become peace
lapping upon the shores of divine purpose

Gravatar I don’t not think Muslims/Arabs should apologize for things that they have not done. However, I do think we must speak out against the terrorist who claim to be Muslim. What I see is everyone clinging to silence as a defense Mechanism. Either you believe in what they did or you are too afraid to have an opinion against them. Both SHAMEFUL. If you are to maintain Islam as a Peaceful religion you can not accept what the terrorist are doing. Arabs should be the first to condemn. So that the world knows that we are civilized and peaceful!!

Gravatar I like that banner, saw it on Fayrouz's blog. I'm gonna put it on my blog. Shukren!

Gravatar I like the banner, but i think you should change the spelling of "Moslems" to "Muslims" the latter is standard and a better translations. the first one is usually used in hate splurs.

Gravatar The banner is good. In the UK our media carries many fear stories about terrorists. I worry that less aware people begin to associate all muslims with terrorism which is clearly ridiculous. However, as a previous poster mentioned, it is not always clear what the response from the muslim community is towards terrorism. The response we usually see would be one of the muslim leaders from various communities or organisations being interviewed on the news for example. I think this banner and website is the first organisation I have come across which makes such a clear disassociation and I think it's really positive. Nobody should have to feel that they are apologising for anything here. However, surely distancing yourself from those who commit murder & atrocities is a good thing? Let's take our faith back from those who think it's okay to take lives in this way. And what's worse, take lives in our own name - we never asked for this. As Abir says, Islam is a religion of peace. Extremists and terrorists are tarnishing the reputation of Islam - through organisations such as this we can take it back.
