*A week ago Samir Geagea informed the lebanese people that some ministers will be assassinated to let the goverment fall...........
*Pierre Gemayel was one of the presidency candidates from the 14 February maronite leaders that are also candidates(Samir Geagea is one of them)........
*Samir Geagea a miltia warlord,pro amaricain,pro israeli(he met with manny israeli representative)that's past is filled with assassintating or trying to assassinate maronite leaders(Dani Chamoun,TonyFrangieh.........)so he can be the lone Maronite leader............
*The goverment didn't take any move to increese the protection of the threatened ministers,especially that one of it's members(Geagea)
*Everyone knows the heavy traffic that blocks beyrouth and metn and all the surrounding areas(new jdaideh included).........
*Pierre Gemayel was shot to death in broad daylight,in the middle of a
usually overcrowded street,always blocked by the traffic jam,by gunmen with uncovered faces..........
*There was not any known attempt to follow and catch the killers,by the late ministers guards or any police officer or anyone know,known that it was verry easy to catch men with uncovered faces,in a car in
the middle of an overcrowded street stuck by traffic jam.........
*The opposition(8 feb,fpm and others.....) was preparing for a large demonstration that was most probably going to be on thursday,and was most probably going to overthrow the goverment.......
*The first predicted reaction to the assasssination of any 14 February member and especially if he s a minister was to point a finger at Syria and Hizbollah and his allies.........
*This is exactly what actually happened when Pierre Gemayel was assassinated,most pro feb 14th lebanese,and leaders,pointed the finger toward syria and Hizbollah........
*Lets ask a question here:who's the beneficiary of this assassination????
*The oppsition(Hizbollah,Fpm,and the others.......)can't have their huge demonstration that was gonna overthraw the goverment,coz it would have been immoral to do it in these circumstances.........and this opposition was gonna be the first appearant suspect..........
*What's left of the goverment and its 14 feb allies benefited from:1- delaying the opposition demonstration2-the goverment still need 2 ministers to resign so it looses its legitemacy.........so the assasssination of Gemayel didn't took the legitemacy of the goverment3-the international tribunal for Hariri's murder is been out under the 7th chapter4-everybody is accusing Hizbollah5-a big wave of hate is shown from 14th feb allies toward G.Aoun....................so now if they didn't benefit???????who benefited then??????????

I have to say that it was a violent reaction, but on the bright side, Amin Gemayel was wise enough to order his supporters to calm down before it was too late and things went relatively fine, no one got killed in retailation. Poor father.
By the way Mustapha, what is your opinion on the next substitute for Pierre Gemayel? ghassan-gebran tueini style?

I dont have time for an in-depth response unfortunatly; but two points son:
1. Geagea was cleared of killing Dany Chamoun. Elie Hobeika was the responsible party.
2. If Geagea was behind the murder, why did he announce it two days before?

Geagea was not the only one who knew about an attempt to assassinate someone from the Cabinet. On LBC, a journalist was saying that it was known that Pierre was on the hit list, as well as another parliamentarian he did not wish to disclose his name.
So give me a break! What Geagea knew was what the security forces knew.
It just phases me though how until now there aren't any arrests made yet.
Oh my god,this is really horrifying.scenes like this brings always bad memories,my heart almost stopped.
Please let us all step back a bit,and Pray to whoever we pray to.I hope that history will not repeat itself,the Lebanese deserve much better.We still carry the scars of the terrible past,may the future generations be free of nightmares.

Ado, you are just another conspiracy theorist. Forget the details and look at the big picture. Do you want to be in the Syria / Iran axis?? Or the West? Your choice. Lebanon is too small and too weak to pick something in between.
Ado, you make lots of sense especially that the execution was done like the one used against "Dany Chamoun".
But in any case, whoever the executer is, it should not push us to fight each other: this is the real purpose of this assasination. It is not the governement, it is not the international tribunal because it is hapening and nobody can stop it. It is all about going back to civil war!

Aoun ran agianst HA in teh elections of the year 2005. The LF, Jumblat and Hariri, ran on HA lists than they rejected him.

You keep pointing the finger towards the other camp blaming them for wanting to create a civil war and by just saying and even thinking what you just said above, you are promoting along with the people you follow a civil war and dragging people to one.

What is it about getting into authority in government that makes men want to make large statues or banners of themselves and plaster their likenesses all over the cities and towns?
It is done in so many places, and even in places where the religion of the places says that one must not decorate their buildings with statues or artwork that depicts animals or people, so as not to promote idolatry.
Do not these people who in vanity choose to display themselves as "larger than life" and omni-present somewhat ask for what they receive when their banners or statues are destroyed?
I'm probably naive, but why are they burning a picture of Aoun, who is merely a local Syrian lackey, and not of Bashar who requested or of Nasrallah who likely executed this assasination?
I understand that Aoun is "their own" but really, why burn pawns' pictures?

This exactly the purpose of Pierre Gemayel's kiling, it is to make people more Fanatic and more against eachother, I don't think Mus is at this stage, but you noticed that there is a big change in his bias. He has always been a pro Hariri, but with the assasination he is showing more of it even in a biased way. Mustapha is not the only one, all the Lebanese did the same. Do you think HA people are not polarized, and so are FPM supporters and all the rest. But this is exactly the wrong way to go. It does nto matter what our political affiliation is, it should not push us to burn the last string of connection among each other, and unfrotunately reading the newspaper today, i think we have done so. Even I am starting to read stuff about Confederation.....
