It is ashame that this took place, but this is defintely not representative of the whole demo. If that is the case, no wonder why we are confusing the real majority from the "Akthariyeh wahmieh".

Ok, let's suppose like you're saying that he is "planted" there, an agent, or whatever as you say M&F.
How can you explain the crowds clamoring? doesn't it mean that there's something instinctively anti lebanon in their doctrine?

It was a brilliant move from Hezbollah to use the national flag instead of their own, but I wonder how much of that is the choice of the people and how much is enforced by the rally organizers? Has any tv station or other media asked the demonstrators (a random guy on the street, not their spokesmen) why they chose the Lebanese flag instead of Hezbollah flag?

Al-Mustaqbal newspaper had an article about a family that decide to fly the Lebanese flag at Addahia but the neighbors told them to take it down. Read the article! I think Hizb-Iran prefers a foreign flag on the Lebanese flag!

this guy is disgusting. you can see his buttcrack and he's barefoot, his demeanor and the way he throws down the flag is totally not representative of the demeanor of the demonstrators or the demeanor of the organizers.
the flag he puts up is not a foreign flag, it is a partisan flag, one that the demonstrators did not want to raise, because the demonstration is not a sectarian demonstration or a partisan demonstration, it is a lebanese unifying one. remember, all the march 14 demos were full of partisan disgusting flags of murderous parties, including LF and Huras-al-Sahayneh.

I almost wish the media would completely ignore these artificially staged demonstrations and that we would all go about our daily lives as if the mourtazaqa werent there. Wouldnt it be marvelous if we can turn Micho le weasel Aon into "Mr. cellophane, Mr. cellophane...you look right through me, walk right by me, and never know I'm there".

nadim, did you watch march 14th? were you there? the majority were carrying LEBANESE flags and yes there were other flags in between of other RESPECTIVE political parties of Lebanon. Watch this demonstration closely and you will see flags of Hizballah, Aoun, Marada, etc. That is not the point here.
The point is that this guy removed the Lebanese flag to replace with Hizballahs flag. That's just messed up. You know what though? I am not surprised. During the July war, refugees who had fled to Zouk Mikhael, and were staying and St. Michel, removed the Lebanese flag and replaced it with Hizballah flag and this was during the first few days of the war. How insulting! Lebanon should always come first.

Mustapah,
First things first, I harshly condemn removing the Lebanese flag and replacing it with Hezballah flag even if it is one dude among a million such act is should not pass without notice.
I watched the video and it filled me with rage.
Then I took a deep breath and watched it again without the music and I saw a different thing, slightly different, but it matters.
I may be wrong, but I doubt it, please bare with my explanation and decide for yourself and sorry salaf for the length.
On second 5 we clearly see the man on the pole looking down , there is NO Lebanese flag on the pole.
On second 6 there is a cut in the video and then the man has a Lebanese flag in his hand. If the man had removed the flag from somewhere on the pole not seen from the camera angle there would be no need to cut the video as the person who edited it did.
On second 8-9 the camera accidentally moves down and there is a man holding up another stick up with a flag (upside down) trying to give it to the man on the pole.
So we can safely assume in the removed few seconds the man asked for a flag holder from the demonstrators (to use it for the flag in his pocket) and the people down gave him the ones they had in their hands as seconds 8-9 still show.
The person who made the video deliberately cut a few seconds, added dramatic music and slow motion effects and titled it "Lebanese Flags Brought Down" to get us angry and make us think the guy removed the Lebanese flag and replaced it with a hizballah flag and we fell, all too easy.
It is still not a good thing to put the Hizballah flag up in the first place (instead of the Lebanese flag) but it is a whole different issue than bringing down a Lebanese flag as you were led to believe and post, unfortunately many people will see the video forward it to all their friends raise sectarian tensions and not bother think about it for two seconds or read comments ... More anger ... more sectarian hatred we all sit in our corners thinking we Love Lebanon and the other side hates it.

Loyalty of Hizbullah was always to Iran and never to Lebanon. They are providing them with money and weapons. Therefore, the orders always come from Iran. Even when a Syrian backed government was in Lebanon, Hizbullah always had there own agenda.
So I am happy with this guy raising Hizbullah flag. At least he is sincere about it and not like the remaining sheep that will wait for Mr. Nasrallah to tell them how to think (or what to do.
The true colour of the demonstrators is clearer and clearer.

Let us suppose that the video was not staged. There is a lesson to learn from what happened. Let us find put what could be behovioral analysis for that act. I am married to a psychologist and I guess after 5 years of mariage I learned some of her bright skills. The behavior of this guy and the people shouting for him is to prefer the association he belongs to over the Lebanon. He sees himself as a memeber of the Hizb more than a Lebanese citizen. The smart comentators on this wonderful blog (and I mean it) all are inviting the Hizb to have Loyalty to Lebanon more than to their leader or their party. But how can you expect such thing when the Lebanese governmentsssss not only Saniora's were adn are absent from every area inthe South. How can we expect this citizen's loyalty to be towards some government officals that laughed at his sufferings, that abondonned him when he needed them and never helped after the war? While this behavior is absoluetly not acceptable to me, it is normal to him. The Christians area witnessed the same thing during the war, the LF flag and the cross were more respected than anything else. So was the Mourabitoun flag in the 70's.
This incident as well as these demos would not exist if the government is doing its job, and th pas governments did theirs too.

How about this pic:

Is this loyalty to Lebanon or ????
I hope you rot in Hell you stinky collaborators.
Or, I hope the Mr. Nasrallah will tell you to jump in the sea. And based on your IQ and the way you question his orders, you will all be at the bottom of the sea.

You do have a point Abu Nour. But can you tell me why the government has no presence in the south? and what can we do to change that? My simple and short answer is, the Syrian Regime engineered the situation we find ourselves in today. They kept everyone in line and playing a certain role in Lebanon from Hariri, the Palestinians, Hezballah, and the marginalized Christians. And most importantly the government and the army was left weak for an obvious reason. A strong government with complete authority over its lands, the ability to defend itself, and the ability of its institutions to represent the people fairly and allow for efficient power-sharing basically means theres no need for Syria. Instead we would have been a model of democracy, pluralism and mutlti-confessional coexistance (i.e a safe haven for anti-baath and syrian opposition figures, among other things)They also would have missed using us as an open ended bank to finance their endeavors, build their country and consolidate their power.
Solution today: Simply put, consolidate all power and authority in the hands of the state. Which March 14th wants to do.

There is a slim chance that Lebanon could be saved from being ruled by Islamic fanatics working for Iran. The US or Israel would be the ones that could defeat Hezbollah. The US is too busy fighting Islamic terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. Irael, when once again being bombed by terrorists in Lebanon will not be quite as concerned for civilian casualties or damage to power or water supplies. Hezbollah will likely take over in the near future and the Lebanese people along with the dream of democracy will be dead.

You are absoluetly right. Your analysis portrays exactly what happened. But the Syrians left a year and a half ago, what did March14 do to strengthen the government, its social apparatus and its security force? nothing. And when the war took place, they had the golden opportunity of getting this loyalty back by speeding the help to rebuild what Israel destroyed, and what did they do? again nothing, in the contrary they delayed the rebuilt of bridges just to punish people, and after, we ask them to hold the Lebanese flag.... I repeat this over and over, Aoun is only popular because of the failure of March14.... HA is only stronger because of the absence of the government. They have to sweat to build a country not sitting idle and waiting for outside's help.

Hizballah is always excellent in showing its true colors. From holding Iranian flag, to throwing down the Lebanese flag, to labelling however disagrees with their idiotic plans as a traitor. There are boundaries they should abide to. At the end of the day, they should wake up and stop implementing a Syro-iranian agenda.

Abu Nour,
Your arguments are weak. you think 1 1/2 years is enough for a government to rebuild and strengthen the country after 10 years of Syrian domination and control? Get real! On top of it the country has a state within a state with Hezbollah. And to add to all of it, HA decided to have a war with Israel on behalf of all of Lebanon!!!
Give them a chance to prove themselves and rebuild the country before saying they are weak and have not done anything! Instead of doing that, HA seem to want to make the government look bad on purpose, refuse to strengthen the army and protest any decision the cabinet takes.
The way I see it, HA have no wish to strengthen this government or anything, they simply want more political power. How do they do this? Do everything in their power to make the government look weak, then tell their supporters how weak the government is. Also tell them how they don't care about any Lebanese Shia because they did not go head to head in a war with Israel. Oh also blame the whole Lebanese debt on the current government.
I demand that all HA supporters stop the hypocrisy. Don't try to give excuses for what you are doing, just be honest and say, we want more political power. It's not a shame to want a bigger say in your own country. Just don't go around giving shit excuses about how weak the government is, how Siniora cried and how they have not done anything for you. Just be honest upfront and stop the bullshit.
Regards,
