Gravatar Nice. Very nice. And true for the most part. I think the really vexing truth is people like Schori, Spong, Griswold, Righter, Crew, Russell, Kaeton, Robinson, etal actually don't believe in Hell. Or souls in jeopardy.

I honestly think they are all about normalizing sin. Because sin is something they also don't believe in. If they believed in sin, would they allow so many, including themselves, to be so heavily caught up in it?

We were married (if you can believe this one) by Bishop Waynick when she was ex-Tomato queen (kid you not) regular old Reverend Waynick. She was a better choice than the serial adulterer rector of our parish but as usual I digress. Anyway, the Rev. Waynick once gave a sermon on how she did not believe that souls went to Hell. Only the 'bad' parts of people and as you might have guessed, the good parts went up to Heaven...

Gravatar Ok, I write what I just write...then visit MJC and what do I find? Why this:

“You don’t all have to profess exactly the same understandings of the central tenets of the faith,” she added. “What’s important is to worship together."

- Katherine Jefforts Schori.

Obviously the meaning of her statment hangs on what the definition of together is... because the central tenents of the Faith (according to her) are negotiable..

Gravatar I just wish she would either go back to studying whales or whatever, or simply not open her mouth.
