One wonders how they would react to Kipling's "The White Man's Burden".
Once again I am reminded of the late Fr. Neuhaus's words, "...the Episcopal Church mainly exists these days to make satire redundant."

Even the socialist anti-imperialist revisionist Percy Dearmer had a more traditional understanding of 'missionary lands'.
Remember all the people
Who live in far off lands
In strange and lovely cities
Or roam the desert sands,
Or farm the mountain pastures
Or till the endless plains
Where children wade through rice fields
And watch the camel trains.
Some work in sultry forests
Where apes swing to and fro,
Some fish in mighty rivers,
Some hunt across the snow.
Remember all God’s children,
Who yet have never Heard
The truth that comes from Jesus,
The glory of His Word.
God bless the men and women
Who serve Him overseas;
God raise up more to help them
To set the nations free,
Till all the distant people
In every foreign place
Shall understand His kingdom,
And come into His grace.

Was drawn to your site by the quotation of Reginald Heber's wonderful hymn, "From Greenland's Icy Mountains." For more about the writing of it you can check out my blog, Wordwise Hymns, for May 30th.
As to your criticism of the Anglican Church, not being of your number, I hesitate... But have we not become slaves to political correctness to the point of being ridiculous? Sure we learn things when exposed to other cultures. But we still have a commission from Christ and are ambassadors for Him--unless we believe that one religion's just as good as another. But then, why go to share the gospel anywhere?
God bless.

Robert, I left the Anglican Church two years ago and was received into the Holy Catholic Church a year ago last Easter. Since then I have tried to curtail my criticism of the Anglicans but sometimes do so anyway; much more out of sorrow, however, than anger.
