Good reading though, eh Adam?
I had respect for Mulroney before reading the book, and a lot more after reading the book. It's amazing that his government accomplished what it did, considering the treatment he received from the media.

Sad to read all the speculative postings...but I have first hand knowledge of the publication of the Mulroney book and I can tell you that the book was started over 2 years ago, and that the contract with Random House specified that the manuscript was to be handed in by May 2005 for fall publication.
Our first knowledge of Mulroney being ill was when we read it in the paper. The book was basically completed at that point. Seriously now, do you think that Random House should have just shelved it and lost income? It just doesn't make sense from a business perspective.
It certainly is my experience that when an author takes an advance on a book, the publisher owns his/her time and sets the production schedule. So Adam, if your publisher doesn't work to deadline and doesn't demand that you hand in a manuscript on a certain date, then I think you should name this publisher because there will be lineup of authors who would love to be signed to this one...
