The Comments

I'd like to explore the modern condition of a literate female or two, IYKWIM. (AITYD.)

I find that remark terribly uncongenial.

That's what I've always enjoyed about traveling: even if you're just sitting in some place not home doing almost nothing whatsoever, you can still say: "I'm traveling, and that counts as doing something."

The same she is true for to smoking the cigarettes. Having quit, I feel so much more idle.

That's what's going to suck about the academic life -- before wasting away my whole life on the beach, I'd have to do a thorough review of the beach-lounging literature.

Adam, in all my mumbling about your academic blues, that's exactly what I meant to say.

Just as long as you do not find yourself reviewing the beach-lounging literature while lounging at the beach instead of reading the beach-lounging literature itself, you should be ok.

Oh my god, that so perfectly sums it up.
