Speaking as a freelance writer (okay, so we're the lowest known form of human life), I'd recommend action on the client side, based on a specific Silicon Valley client, who shall be nameless. That client's marcom staff, comprised mostly of 25-year-old geniuses, was incapable--several occasions, after which I quit them--to come up with project data, budgets, schedules or potential sources for the above. This after showing up, almost invariably, late for the project meeting (but remember, their time is valuable and ours isn't).
