After four successive, identical experiences I fired them. Each time, the lame-brain supposed to supervise the task (a different lame-brain each time) arrived 30-45 minutes late for the scheduled meeting and didn't have a project description, schedule, technical resources or a budget, and no apparent idea how to get these desiderata. This immense Silicon Valley corporation is a household name but I make a point of never buying their products or services.<br /><span class=\"byline\"> John Joss (real name) | 07.17.09 - 11:17 am | <a href=\"#127615\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"127621\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=73ae51e524597b11a1548d1caa672193&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=PG&amp;size=28\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: right;\" class=\"gravatar\" />\"I'll have a Brandy Alexander.\" Haha hahahaha hahaha haha hahahaha ha.<br /><span class=\"byline\"> Elise | <a href=\"http://sinpantalones.squarespace.com\" title=\"http://sinpantalones.squarespace.com\">Homepage</a> | 07.17.09 - 1:33 pm | <a href=\"#127621\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"127622\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=9b2697832ae05bc447f6362ca3595fb8&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=PG&amp;size=28\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: right;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Re: Read This Post<br>I blogged that piece last month:<br><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http://advertisingtobabyboomers.blogspot.com/2009/06/nostrachuckus-scratches-his-head.html\">NostraChuckus Scratches His Head</a><br>And I blogged a piece of yours yesterday:<br><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http://advertisingtobabyboomers.blogspot.com/2009/07/facts.html\">Facts</a><br><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steal_this_book\">And don't forget the original 'free' book.</a> Getting it was much more fun than simply turning on your computer and scrolling.<br /><span class=\"byline\"> Chuck Nyren | <a href=\"http://advertisingtobabyboomers.blogspot.com/\" title=\"http://advertisingtobabyboomers.blogspot.com/\">Homepage</a> | 07.17.09 - 2:09 pm | <a href=\"#127622\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p><hr /></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\"> <a name=\"127637\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=0fe0b192e02cfcc4257bf0e8194e7a9b&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fec1.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2Fx-locale%2Fcommon%2Ftransparent-pixel.gif&amp;rating=PG&amp;size=28\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: right;\" class=\"gravatar\" />Bob,<br><br>I've read Free already (paid for it, at a bookstore, how old-fashioned of me), and what amused me about the book is that most of what he's talking about as a \"new economic model\" is, exactly as you say, sampling.<br><br>Free isn't a new economic model—it's bankruptcy and starvation if it's all you've got.
