Gravatar Not to get too gushing but... well, you brighten my mornings. Cracking stuff, yet again.

Gravatar You have successfully made me feel like a post-apocalyptic cockroach. And, frankly, it suits me.

Gravatar Great read, as always. I read Garfield Monday and passed it around (OK, I Tweeted it!) because he's right about so many things, that for many institutions now is their apocalypse. Yes, NBC and the Chicago Trib are toast in their current form, as are any organization tied to closely through capital or human equity to technology or channels that are being swept away.

But for those of us whose job it is to figure out the best way to help our clients sell shit, now is an exciting time, if you have the balls to ride the tiger. That should be our rallying cry. NOW"S THE TIME TO RIDE THE TIGER!! ℠

Gravatar Nice. It's funny how refreshing your crankiness can be. As long as advertising remains omnipresent and our culture continues to be fascinated by consumerism (which is probably eternity), then these calls for the death of advertising will remain hollow. There will always be people selling and the masses will always be buying.

Gravatar As long as we have consumers we'll have companies vying for their attention. The only relevant question that we should be asking is what types of advertising sells more shit and which ones don't.

Gravatar Well, you got right to the heart of it as always, Bob. If that professor's column hadn't been on Techcrunch (which is a widely-read site) no one would have cared.

Gravatar Hurrah.
First post on this blog to make me laugh in agreement.

Will check out the good one tomorrow.

Gravatar Donthca just love it when TAC dips his pen in hot hydrochloric acid and lets rip? Then he takes the vat, pail or whatever of hot hydrochloric acid and gives morons an enema with it.
Way to go, TAC!

Gravatar Bob
I am a recent devotee so you may have answered this already. You don't have ads on your blog, so presumably you don't 'need' traffic.
Why does your RSS feed only pump out the headline, forcing another click (+wait) to read the post? That is very un-internet.
And I don't want to 'piss-in-your-pocket'(Aussie for flatter) but I really like your work

Gravatar Yeah, Dennis, whatever you do, don't flatter Bob. He HATES flattery.

Gravatar The only people who seem to believe advertising is dead (aside from the sited professor) are advertising people. Leave the conclusion to you.
