I grabbed a bunch of Feta cheese. Good stuff.

Gravatar You scared me for a moment! I hadn't heard about the boycott and thought from the title of your posting that a Trader Joes boycott was planned by some Jewish group. (It is, after all, now owned by the German Aldi chain.) Noooooooooooooooooo!

TJ is my favorite food store - I live on their chocolate and coffee. (The ones near me also carry Empire chicken, some kosher cheeses at a decent price, and decent challah.)

Gravatar Some pre- and post- anaylsis of the Trader Joe's boycott bust can be found at my anti-divestment blog www.divestthis.com, including some great couscous recipes (supplied by my mom) for those of us who bought out the store this weekend.

Gravatar wow! i just love trader joe's . now you gave me another to love them more.

Gravatar Feta cheese is good. XD

lol random comment. XD

Gravatar They make a salad with Israeli couscous and currants that's really delicious. But apart from selling canned garbanzo beans, and selling a middle eastern platter with two or three pre-formed falafel balls, I am not sure why you are somehow claiming that falafel are available at Trader Joes.... (And I wish they were!)

Gravatar I don't think they are. But since falafels are a quintessentially Israeli food, I was just parodying the type of chant that these protesters might say. It is absurd, but then again, so is the idea that someone who does not like the Israeli government should spend their time protesting at the completely apolitical Trader Joe's.

Gravatar Just came from TJ's love that place. This might be the same group of people that are protesting stores like Target that sell the "Yes to Carrots" line of hand cream and body care products which are also made in Israel. The only other thing that I can think of at TJ's that is made in Israel are those cool little mini packs of frozen herbs and garlic. They come in a little tray with small cubes and you just use one or two at a time in soups and things like that. I purposely bought them because they were made in Israel.

Gravatar The Israeli feta they carry is pretty good. I slightly prefer the Greek feta TJs also carries (which is more expensive though), but they're both quite good, and both miles ahead of the abomination that is cow's-milk feta.

Gravatar I never heard about this. I didn't think I could love TJ more than I already do. I guess I was wrong.

Gravatar so, after reading this high-minded intellectual post & comments, I see that our time honored tradition of understatement, dismissal, mocking, trivializing (ad homenium like) of positions outside your hardened heart!

Is it not TRUE according to our teachings w/re to JUSTICE (which we never ask of Hashem when we implore his judgment--who of us could w/stand such scrutiny)--That justice never ever stands alone---but is always & forever accompanied by MERCY---which always & forever mitagates JUSTICE---

save one---when it comes to our dealings w/Palestinians---for them an exception---NO FRICKING MERCY---what gives--where is our/your mercy!
