He should attend your dad's parish for one Sunday Mass and he would be convinced you were right. Sounds like you and EJB are having a blast there. My question is, are you getting weird looks for draping Old Glory over your shoulders?

Only true for brewery pubs (German: Brauhaus). Something typical for Cologne. Like the Cologne beer (Kölsch).

This is only typical for Cologne and the Kölsch beer.
In Düsseldorf (a co-city of the WYD) they haver their own "Alt" beer and use bigger glasses (0.4 liter). And in Bavaria they have their 1 liter mugs.

On some aspects Germany is a very diverse country.

Thanks for the details on what is going on during WYD. I think that Cologne is the best setting for such an event.

BTW, the glass that Kölsch is served in is unusually small for Germany. Usually the glasses are much larger.
