Another greatly moving picture Nasim. Good work. I am always amazed by the total ignorance in the West about what is going on daily in places like Kabul. It is revolting, but the Western media show us only the big picture (and even then, how distorted it is?)...

Would like to join the other commenter on congratulating you on such a moving image - superbly annotated also.
Would love to here your views on the 'media' in your country if you have the time and inclination...

When I was 9 , all that I can think of were my favourite ice cream flavour and what to ask from my mum on our next trip to the grocery store,This picture certainly makes me ponder while reducing all the dark energy and selfishness inside me.
Thank you .

A heart wretching picture. It is to all our shame that that there is always enough money for guns and never enough to feed all the people with dignity.
"It takes a village to raise a child". . . where is the village for this child??

dont you think that her future is better today than it was 5 years ago? at least girls in general may have the ability to go to school now, where as the taliban wouldnt allow it. hopefully sooner rather than later, she will be able to go to school herself. it takes time and sometimes you have to spend more on guns to get to where you spend more on education and other social programs. you dont really have to look back that far into the "west's" history to see that. take care and i would love to see more frequent posts but i understand the situation. stay true and hold fast.

Nasim
By the comment you left on my blog you misunderstood my comment above.
When I ask "where is the village for this child" you took it literally.
The expression "It takes a village to raise a child" is a metaphor. It means children are all of our responsibilites and we must do all we can to see them thrive. So when I asked the question, I was asking sadly"where is the community of people to prevent the suffering of children.
I would wish for your country the development of a social safety network of services sufficiently funded so children and widows are care for first, not last. This is where security should begin.
Islam with its high value of charity surely would support such a society.
