I have a question though, Nasim. Would this short-term gain of ending the fighting help in the long-term at all? From what I've heard (admittedly very little), warlords still control quite a bit of the countryside. The gov't in Kabul doesn't have much control. How do you propose we, on the one hand, stop the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, while on the other hand, prevent the warlords and disbanded Taliban and Al-Qaeda from controlling everything oustide of Kabul?

Gravatar This is what which confirms that the democracy does not export himself. The must gain himself inside a country.
They will now be forced to get down to pacts with Taliban.
Dear

Gravatar Dear Mr. Fekrat:
I'm writing for your advice from Canada, where I am journalist and online publisher. As
an Afghan online journalist, I'm writing to you for your opinions, feedback and
viewpoint.

Recently a poll of Afghans was released by news organizations here that appear to show
support for our government's military mission in your country.

After scrutiny based on information sent to me by readers, I wrote an article entitled
"Polling of Afghans open to a lot of interpretation" for our publication
HarperIndex.ca. The article is posted at
http://www.harperindex.ca/ViewAr...e.cfm? Ref=00108.

Here's a news article about the poll itself:
http://origin.www.cbc.ca/world/s...fghan- poll.html

I was hoping you could take the time to read the articles and answer a couple of
questions for our readers:

1. Do you think the poll is credible?

2. What do you think of the credentials and methods of the local polling
companies involved?

3. How do you think Canada's role in Afghanistan is seen by local people, if they
are aware of it at all?

Thank you for taking the time to consider this.
