Under the logic about Canadians dying in vain, the same can be said of Afghanistanies. My point is that cycles start, that take putting brakes on.

Great find on this.
Meanwhile, in response to your note on my blog (which was much appreciated) we have not changed much physically in 25000 years. A little taller but also a lot more exposure to disease. Even the Bible says that we had three score and 10 years and that hasnt changed much until recently.
Death as an infant was very common up until the last 50 years or so as medical specialties developed.
Chances are, if you lived past 6 and then weren't eaten by a cave bear or killed by a jealous husband, as a cave dweller, you had a better than even chance of surviving until you could no longer feed yourself.
Many ancient jaws have been found with teeth ground to the nubs by decades of eating millet ground in stones.
