I warned you I was gonna do that. We high school teachers do not issue empty threats.

Good links, good job.
Thanks, as ever, for your support! It does occur to me, though, that should a future employer google me, it could save me some interview time, perhaps more than I had ever dreamed...

Excellent job, NYC! The organizational theme is perfect! That must have taken forever, and you make it look effortless.
And really, thanks for the very kind words.

Another fine job -- Bravo.
Many thanks for including my request for titles that should appeal to the new age group I'll be working with next year. I've already gotten a set of suggestions directly due to your help.
(Who needs to purchase curriculum? We're colleagues, not customers, and The Carnival proves it.)

Wow! Helluva job. Thank you.
And I'm with Mike - didn't expect inclusion. Good thing I threw up something besides my Friday nonsense.

Impeccable work, once again.
Okay, but you have to tell me: where do you get the energy from? Do you take dietary supplements? Power naps? Is there some Gingko Biloba in your cereal? What? I've been sleeping from 1 A.M. to 11 A.M. since I came back from vacation and have trouble typing up this single comment (whereas during the school year I usually sleep from 1 A.M. to 6 A.M. and am rarely exhausted).
I think I've been taking the lyrics to "Margaritaville" a little too literally. Blasted Caribbean nonchalance.

Thanks for all the kind words.
The secret, Mr. L., is to have something else you really ought to be doing. Then, a project like this gives you a great excuse not to do that other thing.

nyc educator;
Thanks for your kind words about summer school teaching. I believe every teacher should try it once to appreciate teaching in the summer.
By the way in Superman "WHERE IS THE AMERICAN WAY"???? Hmmm, I smell a politically correct pinko-commie plot here.

Thanks again to all.
Chaz,
I don't get your Superman reference. Is it that the new movie does not include the "American Way" thing? I keep reading that the movie stinks and that the actor is leaden.
But it's in 3D and IMAX in some theaters, so I'd like to see it anyway. I admit I'd be disappointed if it turned out Superman was a commie. A few weeks ago the buzz was he was gay, which would explain how he and Lois could just date for fifty years.

Thanks for including us as LOYAL opposition. So often, it seems, any criticism of our union is taken as traitorous and anti-union; in fact, it is just the opposite.
As for Superman: don't bother. Extensive UTP research suggests that Godzilla vs. Megalon is a better summer choice for your viewing pleasure.

Aphrika,
Thanks for that great compliment. I'm working on it. Very, very slowly.
advisor,
Personally, I think for democracy to exist, opposition is key. History seems to bear that out.
One sign you're doing a good job is when the only argument the extablishment can muster is "shut up" and variations on that theme.

Shame on Edwize for not advertising this week's Carnival. They do it for others, and this site has been up for a few days now.
Of course, this blog is gaining in popularity as well as critical acclaim. But not to mention a fellow NYC teacher--shame!

I agree with Schoolgal. It is interesting that Edwiz ignores you but publishes others when they are hosting the Carnival.
Yes, they took out "The American Way" slogan in the Superman movie.
