Why do so many who want to see educational reform see the need to use the "dumb it down" strategy? This makes no sense to me.

Seat time sounds good to me. I can stop writing lessons and making up and marking tests. It doesn't take any effort to grade a seat.

In my county, where children going on to higher education is in the single digits, we apparently already give them credit for just sitting there.

Does this mean that the time I spend in a seat in front of a computer blogging is equivalent to writing lesson plans? Will someone tell my principals?
