Being a male in a high school setting is not only stressful but can be downright dangerous because some students can accuse you of corporal punishment, verbal abuse, and even sexual harassment.
In this climate where administrators believe the students, many a teacher has been removed to the "rubber rooms" simply on a student's accusation.

Middle school will take your breath away! Metal detectors too and snotty rude kids who will say anything to get a rise from the teacher. It will take years off your life. Ditto that admin at tweed and.... lets not forget those LSO's, POS's and other no work jobs that entail forwarding email most of the day.... Yeah that could be stressful. I wish Klein would would wake up and see the real Bronx and not those the chosen few decent schools left.
If Klein woke up and saw the real Bronx, he'd probably close it and break it into five smaller Bronxes, with none of the original residents remaining.
What they don't like about experienced teachers is that you're not afraid of them either.
I finally left teaching a second time, with the good excuse that I have my elderly father living with us. But I had no patience with a principal the age of my children who expected me to think him some gd.
