Wow - can you imagine regularly checking a website to see that the award they gave decades ago is still listed?
That really does say all we need to know about what Mr. Casey does during the day with the help of our union dues.
No wonder UFT rank-and-file are working longer and harder and still not keeping pace with inflation - and that's if they've been fortunate enough not to have been dragged out of the classroom by the "Gotcha Unit" Randi, Leo and Company enabled through all their concessions.

You really did an investigation on this one. Did they delete your comment on Edwize yet? Not only did they delete my comment, but I was no longer logged on after my last comment against merit pay disappeared.
The one forum, which my dues pay for, from our own union does not have the right to do that.

Actually I didn't do the investigation--Mike Antonucci of EIA Intercepts did. That's why he gets to use that cool spy icon on his website.

Yes, what are they doing?
Well, for one thing they are now selling advertisements on the uft.org website. Imagine my embarrassment when I was conducting a chapter meeting for new teachers on how to navigate the website (which is one hot mess, might I add), and there - on the homepage, is a flashing advertisement for a cosmetic surgeon on Staten Island. The teachers laughed and asked whether they UFT was that broke. Then they were simply angry given how much they spend in dues.
Is it possible for the members to ask for an independent audit of the organization's structure and spending? And I do mean "independent."
I'm looking forward to the NYC escort service ads, which certainly can't be that far off in the future.
And since when is dissent on a blog that was created and financed by our dues money subject to such a high degree of censorship?
Honestly, I have to force myself at times to stop mulling such issues over to any great degree in order to avoid my brain imploding from the nonsense of it all.

I had to respond to a certain Edwize comment.
There is nothing "nasty" about this blog. If you check the archives you will see that it was Leo and friends who attacked our credibility first and refused to answer our questions. From there it went straight to deletion. That is the true definition of "nasty".
Glad to see you still visit.

Leo has a meeting every month. I will gladly announce it and you guys if you are high school teachers in NYC are invited. Stop hiding behind your screens and get involved.

It's ironic that the guy who signs his comment "anonymous" tells NYC Educator, Schoolgal, myself and others to "stop hiding" behind our computer screens.
Let me tell you something anonymous - every time I have attended meetings run by the UFT leadership, I have watched anybody who questions what Dear Leader and her minions like Leo do or say shouted down, insulted and/or bullied.
That NYC, Schoolgal, myself and others have all had comments deleted from Edwize by Leo and Company (and I'm not talking about insulting comments or personal attacks, just critical comments about the current state of the union and the leadership) shows you just how much the UFT leadership invites "involvement" in the union.

It's disgusting that Leo Casey is using Edwize for personal issues. On the other hand when was the last time he was in the classroom? A quarter century ago?

Reality Baed Educator should come to Leo's High School Committee meeting. I very much doubt he will get shouted down as the meetings are not exactly that crowded. It will take more than writing on a blog to change the UFT.
