I really have to question anyone who would want a 6-day work week. Could they not be hired somewhere else?
And do you know what the requirements are for these employees? Do they have to meet state certification and have a masters?

Apparently they don't even need to have clean criminal records as far as the NY State auditors could tell from the KIPP documentation.
I just looked at the Teach@KIPP page and I do not see any requirement list for applicants other than a willingness to "Be Nice. Work Hard."
This isn't to say there aren't requirements like state certification or graduate degrees to teach at KIPP.
But given the KIPPster penchant for piss-poor documentation, they may not be sure which teachers hold certification and advanced degrees.
