Every so often, one of my students remarks that something or someone is "wack". I generally respond that they are wrong. In fact, said person or situation is not only not wack, but, rather, "def, dope, and fly". I then implore the student to stop using decades-old vocabulary and get back to work.

Correction: It is "cerrada" no "cerada"
Sorry I couldn't resist...:p

I don't know how anyone spells anything in Spanish. They say English is harder, but they're crazy.

Gravatar Love the story.
Spanish is much easier to spell than English!

Gravatar Thanks Muse, for the kind words. You might be interested to hear that I had a student from Israel a few years back who became fluent in Spanish all by herself through watching soap operas. I was very impressed.

And thanks to Ms. S. for the correction, which I've now added to the post.
