I hope you don't wear that fish tie. That's so 20 years ago, and should stay there.

The Fear Factor scores another victory!

TIES ARE SEXY!

Gravatar Bwahahahahaha!

Reminds me of the lady who was principal of my Junior High School -- that was back before we started calling them Middle Schools. They have since named the place after her. Anyway, one day when I was in 6th grade she went on a tirade over the loudspeaker about "autograph shirts" and how we needed to "keep your cotton pickin pens off of other people's cotton pickin clothes!"

The next time I even *saw* an autograph shirt, I was in 8th grade, and the shirt in question belonged to a 6th grader. I was afraid to sign it!

Gravatar What a great story! It's really a fabulous Slice of Life Story. Would you consider linking it to our upcoming Slice of Life Story Challenge at Two Writing Teachers this-coming Tuesday?

Gravatar Thanks for the kind words. Feel free to use this if you like.

Gravatar I don't dress up much, because I'm a journalism teacher, and have to spend a lot of time crawling around on the floor underneath computer tables, trying to figure out who kicked what cord out and caused the whole lab to crash. When I dress up, the kids often say, "OK, who's in trouble now?" They always assume I'm headed to a parent-teacher conference.

Gravatar Peer pressure isn't always a bad thing!

Gravatar I'm lucky to work in an informal school, where even the Head doesn't wear a tie often. I wear a long-sleeved button-down with no tie, and I'm considered "dressed up" most of the time.

Gravatar I have a crazy Principal. This Principal calls the teachers into the office when they don't wear "formal shoes" or "their cloths are wrinkled" or "your blouse is showing some cleavage". It gets on my nerves!

Gravatar I wish our principal would tell some of our teachers when they're showing too much cleavage- because, with some of them, June is bustin' out all over, and it's totally inapppropriate.

Gravatar Nothing like having a teacher with her hooters hanging out in a parent teacher conference and she's complaining about the student and HER hooters hanging out. Glad she's gone!!! (The teacher, that is.)

Gravatar Great post and in the words of ZZ Top… every girls crazy about a sharp dressed man…

Gravatar I've lost a lot of weight switching to the complex carbohydrate/natural foods approach - good work.

I'm trying to figure out what I'll wear in the classroom during my summer co-teaching hours. I'm thinking dress pants and tops with light fabrics. Any suggestions for female educators?
