"Parents want to know why the bathroom is being remodeled during the school year instead of the summer."
Probably for the same reason they wait until all the students come back to do road work here: Sheer idiocy.

There's a lot of that sheer idiocy around. That's why so many people think this mayor is doing such a great job.

While this administration is busy "training" staff for "data collection", something I did when I was an accounts receivable bookkeeper, they are absolutely incompetent. Which human being in this country marginalizes, mistreats and demeans parents, students and teachers?? Why, it's Little Napoleon himself. He reminds me of my chem teacher in high school. He was shorter then me (and that's short!!) and a control freak, just like his highness. He became the bully in the schoolyard; he learned from Boston's best, apparently. I suspect he'd be even less respectful of the Constitution, since he hasn't always followed basic tenets of the Bill of Rights here in NYC. He doesn't have to; he's Mike Bloomberg, billionaire and owner and local decider for the media. He is just drooling for more power.....somehow, I don't know how, he plays here in New York. I just don't think he'll play in the Midwest or the South. At least, I'm hoping he won't. It appears that his values are not in step with even those of liberals like me.....he always seems thumb his nose at hardworking middle class people. He is still at heart not a civic leader; he's transforming the city system to suit himself, not anyone else. All he knows is the structure of a corporation. In my world, that is a very weak value.

Parents overstating the number of bathroom accidents???? Any time a kid wets their pants past kindergarten or first grade is pretty serious.

I remember a school working on the heating system in the dead of winter. My students were bringing in blankets to put on over their coats, hats, and gloves.
